Overview

HelpCenter is a Shopify app that helps store owners manage customer support via customizable FAQs, a ticketing system, and live chat functionality. With frequent feature updates, the app needed a full redesign to align its UI with its evolving capabilities.

As the sole designer, I led the visual overhaul of the app (excluding the new logo and base wireframes), designed a new marketing website, created a live chat widget and chatbot interface, and prepared all design assets for the Shopify store page.

WEB DESIGN

The old site was a simple one-pager that no longer reflected the app's scope and capabilities.

I used the new (outsourced) logo as a base for the refreshed color palette, and created a cohesive icon and illustration system.

Due to the absence of final app screenshots, I relied on custom visuals to explain features clearly.

App redesign

The initial wireframes were outsourced, but I finalized the UI with consistent visual language:

  • delivered color schemes, illustrations, and icon sets

  • created an effective design system to maintain cohesion

  • focused on clarity, usability, and system cohesion across modules

Live Chat Widget & Chatbot

These were new features without prior UI. I designed everything from the ground up using HelpCenter’s existing design patterns.

  • Created flexible widget templates (wide/narrow) with user-controlled customization options

  • Designed interfaces for multi-functional use: live chat, order tracking, FAQs, and chatbot

  • Developed scalable designs with template and color options to fit different store styles
